Some of my weird and wonderful skills!

A little bit of a random post today but I thought it'd be fun to compile a little list of some of the weird & wonderful skills, talents, and weirdly-impressive-achievements I have!

1. I can solve a Rubik's cube... it's very addictive.
2. I can touch my nose with my tongue and also the bottom of my chin. And do that weird tube thing and that thing where you twist it both ways... I have a strangely talented tongue haha :')
3. I can play the flute and piano (I am no musical prodigy, I just like playing!)
4. I can rap along to about the first 3 minutes of Rapper's Delight by the Sugarhill Gang. I'm not quite sure why, and if you've never heard of it here it is:
5. I am very good at the game "leap frog" where you sorta jump over people... ok this sounds much weirder than I intended so I hope you know what I mean!
6. I can ice-skate, mountain-board and rollerblade, but I've lost my skateboarding ability :(
7. I can hold my breath for a really long time.
8. I can speak Spanish... kinda.
9. I'm pretty good at card games >:)
10. I'm an impressive tree-climber... until I get stuck at the top.

And I'm pretty sure there must be some other things I can do that are slightly out-of-the-ordinary, but that's all I can think of for now!

I hope you've enjoyed reading about my weird skills and feel free to comment your own/things that are the same :)

YouTube ~ A New Start?!

Over the years I've discovered and rediscovered YouTube over and over again! I love it and think it's one of the best internet inventions (if not the best) ever! When I was younger, I'd create silly and fun videos with my best friend and upload some every now and again! Some of them even gained some interest and one in particular is currently at something ridiculous like 80,000 views which is insane!

<----- there it is, to be exact!! :O

But over the past year I've got really into "YouTubers" such as Zoella, SprinkleofGlitter, PointlessBlog, MarcusButler etc! I love watching these vlog-style videos and for many months now I've been considering starting up a new channel and uploading vlogs every now and again!

My first one is now live and I would greatly appreciate it if you'd check it out and give me some feedback :) Obviously it's not perfect and there are definitely some things I would do differently, but it's my first video and I've got to start somewhere!

It's called "15 Facts About Me" and my channel has the same name as this blog, "MissMegsPegs". Here's the video if you'd like to take a peek and if you enjoy it, please hit the like button or even subscribe if you fancy! :)

I hope you enjoy it and thanks for being awesome :)

My Favourite Childhood Films!

Ever since I was very young, I have always loved watching movies! So although I was going to write a post about my all-time favourite movies today, I thought I'd write a little list of my favourite childhood films!
Firstly, these films are ones that I watched to death when I was younger and were my absolute favourites from a very young age!

1. Matilda

This film was legendary. I must've watched it dozens of times and to this day I love it so much! For those of you that haven't seen it (shock horror), it's all about a girl who discovers she is very "different" and in fact, magic. It's soooo adorable and just an all-round great film. A classic for me :)
2. Jumanji

Some of you may not have heard of this film but I was a liiiittle obsessed with it when I was younger! Robin Williams is the main character and the storyline is basically about a board game which comes to life! We're talking giant insects, zoo animals in the house, crazy villains and so on! Such a funny film and for some reason one of my repeat-watches as a kid! I actually haven't seen this film in years so I must re-watch it asap!

3. Bambi

Oh my gosh, I really don't think this movie needs an introuduction! asdfghjkl. One of my all-time favourite disney movies (I was a traditional kid!) and for anyone who loves disney, but hasn't seen all the classics, I would definitely recommend this heart-felt and pure-quality movie!

4. Mary Poppins

Another classic, another childhood favourite! I used to watch this movie pretty much every time I visited my grandparents' house and I just love it! I still really enjoy watching this movie, not just for sentimental reasons, but because it's just hilarious and sooo disney! Magic, adventure, comedy, singing- what more can you ask for?!

5. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

I honestly don't know how popular this film is with people of my generation but I absolutely loved this one! I'm seeing a pattern here of old classics so I guess I was a pretty traditional kid! I couldn't even tell you how many times I must've seen this film, but let's just say I know all the song lyrics still ;) Again, if you haven't seen it, the film is all about a man named Mr Potts who invents an amazing car and the family go on an adventure to a far-off land! It's a really imaginative story and makes you feel all fuzzy and warm inside! :')

6. James and the Giant Peach

I feel like this was one of my most-watched films as a kid and I'm pretty sure a lot of people have never seen/heard of this film adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl book! This. Film. Is. Brilliant. It's actually kinda scary in terms of child films, but really exciting and another one where you have to use your imagination a little bit! The film starts off with real actors but actually develops into a cool animation. It's hard to describe it, but I would say it's a must-see :)

I really hope you enjoyed reading about some of my favourite childhood films! Trust me, there are maaaany more but these were the most prominent ones for me :) Please feel free to comment what your favourite childhood movies were- I'd love to hear whether you agree or have new suggestions!

I hate college, college hates me...

It's the end of the Easter break so it's back to college tomorrow...... greeeeaaaat.

I started college in September and it sucks. I mean, I love seeing my friends and I've met some cool people but, put simply, if the college burnt down tonight, I would feel no sadness whatsoever!

So you get the idea of how much I dislike the place, my lessons and its stupidly childish rules!

I'm trying hard not to moan and bore you, but instead I'm hoping if you're out there and dreading school/college tomorrow, I've helped you realise you are most definitely not the only one!

Hope my little gifs made you smile and to be honest, this post is just a way of me psyching myself up for returning to the dump that is my college!

A New Addition to the Family... Matilda!

Last week on the 2nd of April, my Auntie gave birth to a little girl called Matilda :) I absolutely adore babies, so as you can imagine I've been desperate to see her ever since! Today, me, my mum, my sister, my nana and my grandad all went to visit them and it was just a lovely afternoon! I could not believe how tiny she was! Their first daughter, Cecily, turned 2 in January but it seems no time at all that I was meeting her for the first time!

When I held Tilda, I couldn't believe anyone could be so small and delicate and beautiful... wow I get a bit soppy over babies!!

Anyway, here are some photos of Tilda, myself and my family! enjoy :)

Matilda, so sleepy :')
Me holding her for the first time!

My other gorgeous cousin, Cecily
Playing around with Cecily and my sister in a tent, as you do.

Oz: The Great and Powerful ~ REVIEW!

I wrote a few days ago about how excited I was to go and see Oz, and on Wednesday evening I went with two of my best friends (using Orange wednesdays of course!) and saw Oz in 3D! It was great.
In the cinema with our Harry Potter 3D glasses on!
I'll try not to spoil the plot for those of you considering going and seeing it!

Firstly, the decision to see it in 3D was definitely a good one! The scenery is spectacular and once you enter the land of 'Oz', the colours and effects are so vivid that 3D just makes you feel as if you are there with them! For not much of an extra cost, I'd recommend it if you can :)

James Franco plays the lead who (as you see in the adverts) plays the young circus magician who finds himself swept (quite literally!) into the land of Oz. Wow. May I just say (apologies to any males reading this!) he was looking prettty fineeee ;) but looks aside, I think he does an amazing job of portraying the slightly arrogant, yet good-hearted character.

Mila Kunis plays the character Theodora, another leading role, and with her elegance, beauty and innocence, you can't help but love her character from the start and be intrigued by her role in what is to come.
Other great characters include Evanora, Theodora's first mystical sister, Finley, an adorably loveable flying monkey and Glinda, the third of the three sisters!

For those of you, like myself, who have seen the original Wizard of Oz numerous times, you can't help but try and piece together who's who and what their role will be as the film progresses! As 'Oz' is the prequel to the Wizard of Oz, we know that this film lays down the foundations for the story, but with all the exciting twists and turns, I doubt you will be able to guess the plot or who's who until it's revealed!

My favourite character was this little one!
The film has a spectacular finale with lots of unexpected revelations and I can assure you that there are a few emotional scenes, as well as a fair bit of humour and a couple of jumping-in-your-seats moments!

So I've rambled on a little bit so hopefully those of you still reading were hoping for a good review! Let me know your thoughts on the film if you've already seen it!

A Trip to London Town

Yesterday I went to London with my mum, my sister and one of my best friends with her mum and sister. We went and saw the theatre show "Potted Potter" which is basically a funny parody of the 7 Harry Potter books condensed into an hour and a half! For the Potterheads that we are, this was pretty great! I definitely wasn't sure what to expect and given that there is practically no props and only 2 actors, I'm not gonna lie- I had some little concerns! ;) But after about 10 minutes, any doubts were gone and I had a brilliant time. The improvisations were hilarious and totally made the show, and you can tell how much they love what they do and want to make people laugh! One of my favourite moments has to be when these 2 little girls were invited onto the stage and had to "catch" the snitch (which was one of the actors dressed in a hilarious gold costume). Only, when they caught him they took the advice to "take him down" very literally and we essentially witnessed two 5-year-old girls rugby tackle a 35-year-old man to the ground! Oh my gosh it was a good laugh!

After that, we headed over to Carnaby Street in the search for a shop I was keen to find "Monki". It was definitely a worthwhile trip and I picked up a few lovely items! Here are some photos of my day:

My new favourite shop!

If you'd like to see what clothes I bought, I'd be happy to put some pictures up and talk about them and the shop in a little more detail! Just let me know if that would interest you :)

Off to see the Wizard!

So later this afternoon I'm going to see 'Oz' with 2 of my best friends and I'm rather excited! I fell in love with the Wizard of Oz at a young age, performed in the end of primary school production of it and have gone on to see 'Wicked' in the West End twice! If you haven't already seen Wicked, I definitely recommend going- even if you're in the cheapy seats, it doesn't matter as you'll still be blown away by the set design, the songs and the atmosphere! Oh I do love a good musical.

So fingers and toes crossed that Oz lives up to my expectations! Ooh, and I'm seeing it in 3D so EXTRA excitement :) If all goes well, maybe I'll do a little review of the film in the next few days!

Bye for now :)
